Beirut MySpace Profile

Beirut are a band that i stumbled apon a few weeks back and they took my breath away. Such beautifuly charming folk comes out of them by way of some stunning instrumentation. Vocally they croon along effortlessly, weaving in and out of accordians resonating with trumpets, percussion and the unchessiest ukelele work you will hear.

Stream new T.I. album here

Atlanta's hotest rap export, T.I., is back with a new album entitled 'King'. T.I ups the ante here, delivering his rhymes over some hot beats and some fantastic instrumental melodies. The album went straight to number 1 in the US and sold 522, 000 copies in its first week. For some reason down under he isnt well recognised, trust me that will all change soon.

Dert Myspace Profile

Just when you thought the mash-up was dead, it is. But, there is one exception. I dont think there has been a more hyped hip-hop release this year than this one, but LA producer Dert has released the album 'Sometimes I Rhyme Slow' which seems to be living up to the hype. Common, Kanye West, Erikah Badu and MF Doom rhymes are stirred through Jose Gonzales' instrumentation to create a mix tape that is so flawless, you could barely tell these were mash-ups at all.
