Dave Grohl to get miners drunk

So many bands wish they were My Bloody Valentine. I guess that isn't a bad thing, but when they miss the mark, it is pretty hard to listen to. Instead slightly cross-referencing them without even realising it is a safer bet, which is what Melbourne collective Sand Pebbles do. With a few indie releases under their belt, the band have relased a new album Atlantis Regrets Nothing, and are forging a pleasant sound which has elements of shoegaze, folk and indie rock all rolled into one. Recommended listening.

MYSPACE: Sand Pebbles

For all the whiteboydancers who love Sneaky Sound System and haven't seen the video for their fantastic single 'I Love It', I just found it on the web (finally) so here its is. Watch for the killer robotic keyboard and bass guitar moves. I love it.

Remember those miners who were caught underground when the mine the were working in collapsed down in Tasmania? No it's a bit vauge to me as well, but one person does remember, and is even keeping his promise to the lads he made when they were trapped. Dave Grohl was touched by their story, and was even more touched when he realised that someone actually still likes the Foo Fighters when one of the miners requested Foo Fighters songs be placed on iPods that were sent down the mine Timmy O'Toole style. As a result, he promised free concert tickets and 'two cold beers' to the guys upon their release. Well Dave Grohl has come through, offering the freed miners tickets to their upcoming Sydney show and said on an appearance on Triple J 'I'm not just having one beer with those dudes, we're going for it. This is going to be a big night' Nawww isn't Dave Grohl great, pity his band is crap.
