So I did some metaphorical crate-digging and I picked out The Necks. Unfortunately under-appreciated yet still have enough of a cult following, they sit somewhere within an experimental-minimalist-jazz sort of frame and have been kicking for the best part of 2 decades. Trying to find an mp3 is a killer, but I found this live performance they did for the ABC earlier in the year that I am sure you will enjoy.

I wanted more music to satisfy my urge, so I listened to Rhode Island noise-mongers Lightning Bolt. This track was released last year on their Hypermagic Mountain LP. Its a buzz-saw-to-the-face job, wrecking up shit as it tears through your speakers and ear-drums. The drums, bass and vocals are filthy and abrasive, and it is beautiful.

i work at a jazz club in london where the necks rocked two sold out nights of (pure) genius playing. It was a delight. For me, I can't remember seeing superior technical musicianship.

i picked up their album "chemist" and was playing it about an hour ago.
Hugely underrated i say mon ami
