Playground Weekend

The fact that such an amazing line up and amazing festival was sitting right under my nose only reinstalls the notion in my mind that I can be very lazy and slack when it comes to keeping up with the times.

Not for a moment will I advertise the line up as something for everyone, but it is something for everyone with an ounce of taste to their credit. I noticed when telling others of my excitement at going to this event, the "who's playing" line had me dropping The Presets to gasps and cheers but really the rest left people happy for me, but not anything else.

It made me realise three things.

1) My friends have very narrow and uneducated tastes
2) Those motherfuckers should stop spending all their time at the roller disco and read the fricken blog.
3) The whiteboydancefloor readers comprise the finest tastemakers, but few I know personally.

Anyways moving on, You heard us get excited for a Big Day Out filled with plenty of fantastic and mostly competent acts. But when I name drop just my favourite bands playing this three day festival, it seems I could be here for hours. So here goes.

The Presets (obviously Gosh!), Chk Chk Chk (!!!), Bang Gang Dj's, Riot in Belgium, Valentinos, Dappled Cities Fly, The Ghosts, The Hate Game, Avalanches (Dj set), Cut off your hands, Teenagers in Tokyo, Operator Please, Soft Tigers, The Paper Scissors & Deepchilds.

As I went through, not only did I salivate but I swear Sandwich Club must have had a hand in picking the line up, you're bullshitting me if they didn't. Either that or the are crazy tastemakers (ok ok probably the later).

The point is, with the chance for a 3 day camping trip at your fingertips & a line up like that, I dont need to carry on with some bullshit hype-a-thon like we had to for Big Day Out. This quality speaks for itself and what I've mentioned is just my own little cave of preference.

Go check the Full Line Up and set aside a good hour to firstly go through the insane line up, pick who your taking and then arrange how you are going to get tickets, get there and live for 3 days. The event takes place over the weekend of 9th-11th March @ the exotic sounding Del Rio Resort.

Oww and lastly, I honestly believe the way this event is going to run will really set a new benchmark in quality, value for money festivals. I've spent the good part of 2 hours reading over every little bit of information regarding the event and the thought, detail and in depth thought that has gone into every aspect of the overall festival goer experience is nothing short of impressive.

Look out Ken West, your communistic bullshit isn't going to last much longer.
