Battle Cry!

Battles can lay claim to being my first Math-rock love. It's a genre of music that until recently rarely got out of 1st gear, doing little to interest me beyond a quirky name. Hailing from New York City, Battles have been buzzing around for a lot longer than they have been known to me. The members of Battles come from very illustrious stock and it certainly comes through in the music. Able to appeal to the most savvy musicians as it does to your next big thing blogger as it does to anyone who enjoys a ripping instrumental groove.



I don't pretend to know a great deal about Battles but what I do know is that it's good and they have a new album entitled Mirrored coming out in May.
