Have I listened to much music lately? No. But what new stuff I have been listening to has been exciting and revelatory. My urge to find music to dance to has been replaced with a need to be transported and moved and inspired and excited by music like I used to be.
Screw dancing for now. There is more fun to be had in dissonance and destruction. The sound of a buzzsaw-toned guitar. The rumble and thunder of a bass. The caustic wail of vocals. An incessant high-hat. Its nice to hear something organic and primal for once. I miss bands like Refused, Raised Fist and DFA 1979. More noise I say.

I purchased a ticket to New Found Glory at the Big Top next week. Nostalgia is fun. So is hurting pop punk kids. See you there. Or maybe not...
