Drowning In A Sea Of Foxes
This whole blogging thing leaves me extremely jaded. Just when I purchase one of the most beautiful albums I have heard in the past 12 months, the new Fleet Foxes self-titled album, it gives me an overpowering urge to gush over it. But herein lies the problem. Dozens upon dozens upon dozens of other bozos have done exactly the same thing on their blogs. If I begin to review this album, Ill be preaching to the converted, re-covering old ground and heaven-forbid showing I am behind the 8-ball by not being first on the bandwagon. I'm sure you can download every damn track off the album if you type the band name into Hype Machine. I did, and my search revealed 6 pages worth of bozos had already blogged this band and posted a related mp3. And you can hear these hacks rattle off some rubbish about who they are and where they come from and the fact they are signed to Nirvana's record label and blah blah blah on about the album being alt-country-folk-pop-lush-rural-grass-dirt-leaves or some other ridiculous genre tag. How boring. So you know what. I am not going to say anything more about this album. Just go out and buy it and see whether you like it or not. And if you feel compelled to write about it on your low traffic blog, and I can understand if you do, please do so. But at least write something interesting and creative. No you don't get an mp3.
