Weekend Music

So it's well into the first day of the weekend but who cares, I figure I'd give you a sample of what's getting me through my weekend, even if it may be too late for you to share in it, this is as live as it gets people!

As a blogger, what burns me most is when there is a cd / mp3 sent to me and due to bad luck, a messy room or my current mood, I miss an absolutely piece of gold. Bon Iver is a perfectly example of the one that got away. I had their album very early on and by the time I got to it, I'd blown my shot at appearing like I'm hip.

While still not burning fresh compared to some of those music thirsty blogging vampires, I present you Girls. Nooo, not those kinds of girls, Girls from San Fran. Noo not those kind of girls either, just Girls with a killer song called "Hellhole Ratrace". Get the Song & Check the Clip! Has a real slow burner quality like Odawas but not Odawas if you get me.

Mp3: Girls - Hellhole Ratrace

So now that I'm back @ Uni, I'm sure you can guess what I have spent my entire Friday Night / Saturday doing can't you?

If you answered jamming out Mountains Goats tracks from The Sunset Tree & Tallahassee you'd be 100% correct. Up the Wolves, Game Shows Touch Our Lives, No Children, First Few Desperate Hours Dance Music and this fine song...

Honestly I'm still yet to see a band impress me as much in concert and I doubt there are many who can do what John Darnielle does. Vocals and lyrics are just something bigger than you and me!

Here is something alittle fun. Try reading this.

Having trouble?... Try standing a bit further away from the screen & have another go. I like shit like this, if you do too, click here.

Oww and finally... this is a clip of Nancy Magoo and her peeps on an average weekend. Go to the Peter, Bjorn & John clip below to see.

Jokes aside, was it just me being a really poor follower of music or is it that underrated but how did I miss this gem of a new release from Peter, Bjorn & John. It's ace! Move over young folks...

Youtube: Peter, Bjorn & John - Nothing to Worry About

I can't embed it because there record label are obviously a bunch of dicks (God i hope whoever that is doesn't currently send me free stuff or I'm screwed).

Enjoy your weekend people.

Hey, i love these things, too. There's an audio version of this "illusion," too. Referred to as the "Anguish Languish" (AKA the English Language). Check it out - http://www.justanyone.com/allanguish.html

and http://www.exploratorium.edu/exhibits/ladle/

I got a kick out of it. Great blog!
