To make things even more exciting, Cut Copy have joined the Playgrounder line up. With Zonoscope only days away from release, the news couldn't be more exciting. Bright Like Neon Love made my brain explode and the releases which followed were equally competent. I caught them live at the Manning Bar and I was surprised this laid back electro could translate to such a wildly good time.
I make no bones about the fact I don't like large groups of people and I'm not wild about most live music festivals because they don't cater to the music lover not wild about sunstroke and Muse. But for someone as bitterly selfish and unhappy with the shared reality of life, to discover moments where the joys of coming together for a common experience leads to an increase in my enjoyment levels.
Until you've experienced it, there really is nothing like watching your favourite bands with the backdrop of the surrounding mountains swallowing you whole. Unlike other festivals, You will remember and look forward to Playground Weekender not for the plastic cups of beer, sunburn and Australia Day
Fingers crossed I'll see Jaydos doubling the fuckin' drop.
