Aussie Guitar Chicks / The Stones / What More Do You Want?

Thats right, i dont care if you believe it absurb... this post has everything that matters right now! In keeping with the big up yourself week of female artists, ive decided to release a trump card!

Her name: Bertie Blackman

Her music: Truthfully honest, emotionally emotive, Aussie from Australia. Does that load of mumbo jumbo mean nothing to you? Well, in an unusual approach, I have effectively solved the beautiful mystery that is Bertie Blackman. Her music is as enchanting as the name, speaking for itself with colour. There is nothing overtly different that pricks the ears, but she will get you intwined in her web of addiction.

All this describes what could be crituque as wishy washy... but Bertie is anything but. Really as the cliche goes, 'the music speaks for itself'. She burst into everyones ears with her hit single "You Kill Me" and it recieved high rotation from triple j aswell as an mp3 of the week slot.

RACING THINGS UP A BIT!

JUMPIN' JACK FLASH... THE ROLLING STONES PERFORMED LAST NIGHT, AND YOU MISSED EM! or maybe you didnt, shut up.

Heres a rough setlist dedicated to all you whiteboydancefloor'ers:
*Jumpin' Jack Flash
*Lets Spend the Night Together
*You Got Me Rockin'
*Ow No, Not You Again!
*Black Flower (i think)
*Angie
*Some song ive forgotten
*Tumbling Dice
*Night Time is the Right Time (Ray Charles Cover)
*Keith Richards interlude of Keith Songs (this place is empty without you & happy)
*Miss You (which resulted in the stage and The Stones moving out into the crowd some 50+ metres!)
*Rough Justice
*Get Off My Cloud
*Honky Tonk Women
*Paint It Black
*Sympathy For the Devil
*Start Me Up
*Brown Sugar
*Cant Always Get What You Want
*Satisfaction (I Cant Get No!)

It was amazing to say the least! Review comming in the next few days. Without question, Mick Jagger and all the Stones will be inducted into the Whiteboydancefloor hall of fame... purely unimaginable brilliance.

im excited for this gig review! from all reports, they rocked the house.

however i have one point id like to put to you and our readers. i heard someone on the radio this morning say that the band are brilliant 'musicians'. Now, i dispute this, as i would say they are brilliant performers, as opposed to brilliant musicians.

what do you think? I think the distinction has to be made, not taking away from keef and co who i think are musically blessed without doubt. just a thought

mmm id agree in part

they are certainly much more performers than musicians, keith is a perfect example...great songwriter and guitar player when it comes to overall structuring, but compare him to support band living end... now chris cheney is the perfect example of one motherfuckin guitar player...

as a whole the stones write great songs but technicians of speed and precise guitar shredding, no.

However, take into account that they are not really rock n roll as they are rhythm n blues! For them, speed isnt as important as the musician feeling and identifying with every note. Its a confusing topic
