Since when did South America become the new Montreal? This place seems to be teeming with weird and wonderful artists. Case in point Cansei De Ser Sexy, can't get enough of them.
Anyway, somehow Chile has managed to muster up this band called Panico, a bizzare pastiche of frenetic, bouncy indie rock; sexually suggestive bi-lingual lyrics with a slight disco aesthetic. 'Transpiralo' recalls 'Money (thats what I want)' but cranks up the fuzzy bass and slaps that cowbell like there is no tomorrow while 'Anfetimado' is a straight out garage rocker that sounds like The Hives on some seriously crazy South American peppers.
Hit up some of their tunes at their MySpace profile
'This Big Stereo' a fellow music blog has said some nice things about our Sydney faves Van She. They even posted an mp3 of a new remix of 'Kelly'. The 'states are starting to notice, looks like big things ahead for Van She.
