With Electro-house filtering into the mainstream, there is nothing better than pulling out some clinical and edgy Electro tracks that re-instill your love for the genre and make you calm in the knowledge that those jocks down the street wont be yelling out 'This track is hectic' anytime soon . Franz & Shape do it for me. 'Maximum Joy' from their just released 'Acceleration' LP slams you with its thumping bass and precise synths creating a dark robotic world, with submission to your new robot overlords the only option. An early contender for track of the year.

Electronic music owes a lot to the pioneering sounds of the 1980's, but Kavinski maybe does it a little too much that it borders on gimmicky. But that is of little consequence when the tunes are this good. He has a new EP on the way entitled, surprise surprise, 1986 which is full of those wonderful synthetic sounds that evoke nostalgia of a time where I only existed as a mere infant. You may have already heard 'Testarossa Autodrive' which sounds like the soundtrack to a Knight Rider episode, and this SebastiAn remix of it is pretty killer, with SebastiAn trademarks all over it. Speaking of Killer, Kavinski will be supporting SebastiAn at Killer on the 3rd of March at the Metro in Sydney which looks like a must see.
