Weekend Post: Am I Sick? Bored? Aroused?

Last night involved the musical stylings of a 75 year old female Dj at Penrith Paceway. While the rest of you were out sampling Sydney's finest, I endured 3 hours of Grease megamixes, Alice Cooper dance edits, Bon Jovi and but ofcourse that infuriating song about Detroit that implores tools at the bar to stop what they are doing and throw their hands up in a ridiculous fashion.

Needless to say awaking to find some sublime music awaiting my ears is always a bonus.

Sean Lennon is a maestro of luscious pop music. Lyrically and vocally Sean Lennon is stunning and if you can pull your ears away from his voice for a few moments you can hear the intricate and subtle additions the music brings to Lennon's dreamy voice. I don't really give a shit who he is related to. However I must admit the music does have a shine to it that obviously seems guided by the great ones hand. No Yoko I am not talking about you. Idiot.

Friendly fire (2006) demonstrates a real maturity and depth to the musician that is Sean Lennon. Pop music hasn't had this kind of glow to it in my opinion for quite some time. The music dares to be grand and soars high above just the sum of someone’s parents.
