I didnt break it, They made me do it!

Ever since my first encounter with Be Your Own Pet on this very blog, my passion for loud, raucous music has been insatiable. The irreverent use of guitar buzzing feedback attacking the excessive symbol crashes leave me energised and ready to walk into my living and smash over that ugly vase that every Mum out there holds onto as a keepsake. As I listen to this enraging music, my mind leads to pseudo-scenarios that involve dialogue like "Pffft What's a keepsake you drone" which I exclaim in triumph as I removed my cricket bat from its made in india casing and I rush toward the vase, both shattering it and anything in its immediate path out the window.

And in this moment, I am happy.

This kind of disregard for body and world is a characteristic I attribute to the crisp Sydney freshness of Lions At Your Door. Instead of going down the "rising from the ashes of" approach, we all know where these fine people come from and I see it as pointless to mention a past which is not as dynamic as the future. Lions At Your Door are precisely what the kids who got days off school for the Sydney Olympics expect, nothing less than a snarly growl & snappy delivery. I love the name in that it is quite appropriate, almost preemptive of the chaos this outfit plans to inflict on the earwaves. I cannot wait until they are vandalizing and terrorizing the awkwardly inferior overseas dance floors with some of that good Sydney ferocity! Don't waste your money going to Africa for Lions, those African pussies won't bite anywhere near as hard.

Continuing my love of music that inspires one to "break stuff" for want of a better quotation than Limpbizkit is trouble making yanks White Denim. While they need no extra buzzing from myself, they compliment the previously mentioned acts with distinction. The blogger buzz took hold of them late last year and with a widely championed performance at the illustrious SXSW kept the blog train rolling. It is difficult to find an enduring reason not to enjoy the loud growling noise of White Denim, while I prefer the female squeals and squawks of Be Your Own Pet's front lady, White Denim are non the less, offensively enjoyable. The kind of music that would hurt your parents ears, you know, the way it should be!
