Splendour Pick #3: PSDJs

Honestly I'd have to say Purple Sneakers Djs have been around so long, they're like an institution old pair of jeans... it's a comfy fit for everyone. It seems like they've been around for years and as Sydney floats along absorbing so many annoying trends and piss-poor nights out (what the fuck was Famous) I have to say PSDJ's have stood tall delivering a consistent stream of good fun for everyone, not just the radiohead shirt wearing indie kids. I myself won't sit here and say they are visionaries who blow my mind with awesome mash ups and mixes like a Girl Talk or The Hood Internet, no, PSDJ's are something so much more primitive and not in a bad way. They are tastemakers who get the tracks everyone's blogging about and puts together a set with the right amount of bass kicks and tempo increases to be the perfect recipe to a good time. Add alcohol, stir generously and you're in heaven.

I've named them as one of my picks for splendour for 2 very good reasons. Firstly I got my hands on a really neat little mixtape promo from their up coming double cd "We Mix You Dance" which is out 11th june but secondly and obviously more importantly they are a key ingredient to a fantastic Splendour. When you're done having your mind blown, your socks rocked and indie dance moves tested, you want a good time with an ounce of the everyday. PSDJ's will be there to spin you a tastey selection of tunes and the right dose of a rippin' good time. It's at sets like this where I think you meet lifelong festival friends thanks to alcohol, drugs and the godly powers of talking shit which the two produce.
