Kennigo FTW

KENNIGO | Down the Doorway from jadink on Vimeo.

Kennigo are from Brisbane which probably explains why the name sounds like the slang term for their local pub or a new side joining the Queensland cup to take on Souths Logan Magpies and North Devils. None the less Kennigo are none of these things and the clip for their track "Down The Doorway" quickly eradicates any notions of some yobbo shouting "Queenslander" in a tunnel.

The longer I go without a holiday and weekends free the more I think I'm enchanted by anything that evokes beautiful imagery of the sea. Sometimes I even get all warm and fuzzy over the Fox8 ad with Alex Perry road tripping with his fag hag down to an unnamed bay to watch super imposed fireworks. Hey sometimes even pretending to watch fireworks is a better alternative.

Anyways the clip uses some spectacular kaleidoscope cinematography of the ocean and sees the trio playing to the seas with intense fervor and purpose. The track itself rests heavily on the driving guitar line and the vocal sits somewhere nicely under that. As if they are the mysterious grown up kids of Leonardo DiCaprio in Inception, the clip ends with one brief shot of their faces.
