Splendour Pick #3 - Kaiser Chiefs

The first time I ever caught the Kaiser Chiefs live was at Splendour in the Grass as they toured for the album 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob' and I was caught by their contagious hooks and well-constructed festival set containing the songs you knew plus the ones you didn't, but which still made you dance. Since then I've been a continuous fan, buying the releases as they come out, the last one being 'Off With Their Heads'. Since then the band has been quiet on the recording front as we all await something new like the rabid dogs we are.

Well the band are finally about to return to the arena, with an album due out midway through this year and a whole bunch of festival dates announced overseas and here, at our very own Splendour In The Grass 2011 and I'm pretty damn excited. While the last album provided a significant contrast to the one before it, it'll be interesting to hear where the band have decided to go from the slightly more electro-pop-punk of the last effort. Either way, I'll be there to hear it and i'll let you know how it all goes. When the inevitable sideshows are announced and come around I'd say get yourself a ticket and make your own mind up. One of the more underrated bands on the lineup, but they will not disappoint.

Tickets are still available for Splendour. Get your filthy mits on one now!
